Subject: (Watch) Have You Seen our Dolphin Rescue Video?

If I asked you to think about dolphins, what picture would come to mind?
Dear Chris,

Our Marine Mammal Rescue team has already responded to 206 reports of animals in trouble in just the first five months of 2011. We're poised to easily pass our annual average of 227. So the need for marine mammal rescues is greater than ever!

I sent you this daring dolphin rescue video last week showing our rescue team in action. If you haven't already, please watch the video and then please join our Champions for Animals team to make certain we're ready to rescue even more dolphins and other animals in crisis.

Dear Chris,

If I asked you to think about dolphins, what picture would come to mind?

Would it be dolphins as one of nature's greatest athletes? It's true that dolphins can surf any wave with ease, can swim beneath the surface at incredible speeds, and can leap from the sea to flip, spin, and dive with amazing agility and grace.

Or maybe you'd picture them for their renowned intelligence and sociable nature.

I picture all of those things - and I also think about IFAW's brave and dedicated Marine Mammal Rescue team. Here's a video of them in action:
IFAW Marine Mammal Rescue and Research Video

IFAW's International headquarters is on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, which happens to be one of the world's hotspots for marine mammal strandings.

Every year, IFAW's Marine Mammal Rescue team responds to hundreds of calls of animals in trouble. It seems Cape Cod's shallow water and extreme tides can be especially difficult for dolphins to navigate.

As this video shows, rescuers are often faced with treacherous conditions: frigid water, whipping wind, and waist-deep mud. Our highly trained team has developed strategies to rescue animals in virtually any situation, and thanks to supporters like you, they've been able to purchase equipment to help rescue animals quickly and safely.

I know how deeply you care about animals. And I'm sure you'd put on a rescue suit and slosh out in the mud to rescue dolphins if you could.

Well today I'm writing to ask if you'll help in a different way. Today I'm asking if you'll join another team of incredibly dedicated animals lovers: IFAW's Champions for Animals.

Our Champions for Animals pledge a monthly gift that is crucial to helping IFAW's ongoing mission of rescuing and protecting animals around the world.

Day after day I see our rescue team rushing off to save animals -- there is a constant stream of calls coming in. To meet that demand, we need our own constant stream of support to help our team continue their lifesaving work.

IFAW's Champions for Animals provide that lifesaving stream of support.

Your small monthly gift, when added up with the gifts of other Champions, will provide our Marine Mammal Rescue team with the funding they need to continually purchase new medical supplies to treat animals, and to repair and replace the rescue suits and vital equipment that is battered and tattered by the gritty Cape Cod coastline -- the dolphin rescue video shows some of the treacherous conditions rescuers face.

And most importantly, your Champions for Animals monthly gift will give suffering animals like these dolphins a second chance at life.

I hope you'll join us- and then maybe the next time you think about dolphins, you'll picture the dolphins that your generous gift is helping save.

Thank you -- from me, from IFAW's Marine Mammal Rescue team, and from the dolphins and other animals your gift will save every month,

p.s. I hope I can count on you to join IFAW's Champion for Animals. With your support we can continue to save dolphins like the ones in this video, as well as seals, sea turtles, and other animals that so badly need our help.

Thank you so much for donating to IFAW. Your gift represents a vital contribution to IFAW's entire mission of saving the world's animals from cruelty and exploitation and will be used where most needed to help ease their suffering.

Worried about Donating online?
I used to be too ... so I made sure our online system is safe, secure, and state-of-the-art. It also eliminates check-processing costs, so more money goes directly to saving animals. But if you prefer to donate by phone or mail, simply click here for address information.

NOTE: To make sure you continue to receive further emails from IFAW, please add fred@ifaw1.org to your email address book. If you use a spam filter program, please assign this address a status of safe or trusted. If you have an AOL, Hotmail, MSN or Yahoo email address, this is particularly important as we receive many bounce backs from these email addresses.
